The Colburn Earth Science Museum team is passionate about education and takes pride in offering high-quality, hands-on, high-tech, and fun classes covering a variety of Earth Sciences. We offer more than a dozen different classes for students in K through 12th grade in public, private, and home schools as out-reach or here in the museum.
We want science education to be available to everyone and CESM will work with your school to solve financial and logistical issues.
Each year, instructors from throughout Western North Carolina bring thousands of students with diverse learning abilities to CESM for field trips that include classroom instruction, quarry trips, and our “scavenger hunt” museum exploration. CESM educators also conduct outreach and take CESM science classes on the road.
